Children coming to you through either of these processes will have gone through huge upheavals in their lives already. Whether it is for adoption or short term fostering, connecting with these children and giving them a safe, secure and loving environment is a huge challenge.

A sling could be a very useful tool in that journey; creating a safe place for them to learn to trust their caregivers, and feel reassured by touch, particularly for any coming from physically violent backgrounds. It allows the caregiver to be physically present for the child, giving them added reassurance that they are not being left alone. Successful sling use can also be transferred to the next foster family, giving some continuity of care whilst a permanent home is found.
