Our monthly meet bringing together the North London Sling Library and the Waltham Forest Cloth Nappy Library under one roof. Making it easy for you to get free advice (although donations are always welcome :) ) and support on all things fluffy, meet other parents and have a cuppa and cake :) Please read on to find out more about us and the meet.
North London Sling Library/Slinging London Sling Social
Kate, Trageschule Foundation Sling Consultant is bringing a new kind of sling social to you! Would you like help with a sling you already own? Perhaps you have a specific problem like you can’t get it tight enough, or you find yourself in discomfort after a few hours use? Kate will show you tips and tricks to ensure you are using your sling to its full potential.
Want to try something different? Kate will be bringing a small selection of sling library carriers along to try on and see how they work for you. You will be shown the correct and safest ways to use the carrier to ensure you and your little one are comfy! If you are at all curious about other styles of carrier come and have a try! Even if it’s to rule it out, at least you know
Want to learn a specific carry? Kate is more than happy to demonstrate a plethora of carries and carriers for you! If you require a demonstration of something a little more ‘unusual’ please try and give us some notice so she can look into it before attending.
Just want to have a chat about slings, the benefits, the alternative uses? She can do that too! Especially if there is coffee involved ;)
The Sling Social is more of a social event, for you to utilise Kate’s expertise and have a nice relaxing time in the process. A lot more informal that a sling library but just as useful.
Waltham Forest Nappy Library - nappy natter
Clair, from the WFCNL will be there with some of the nappies from the library to help you work out your Bambooty from your bumGenius, your pocket from your prefold! If you haven't ventured into the world of cloth nappies yet, this meet is a great place to begin. Clair will guide you through all the nappy types, how to use and care for cloth nappies and how the nappy library and the Waltham Forest nappy subsidy work to help save you money.
Nappy kits are not available to hire at the meet but Clair is happy to organise a trial kit to be delivered to you or collected (depending on nappy/kit availability). Again if you want to see a specific nappy, do ask in advance.
Meeting place will be in or around the cafe (dependent on the weather) in Lloyd park adjacent to the children's playground which is located in the middle of the park (it's not a huge park so should be easy to find). The Dad's group should also be on again in Lloyd Park children's centre from 10am-12pm. Hope to see you there :)
